Bana Kuma
Bana Kuma, or Sacred Altering, is a form of conscious creation unique to humans on Earth who exist during this age.
We call forth a gathering to live wisdom together in a time of consecrated awareness, to delve into Bana Kuma, a transformational wisdom map, through music, movement, council and ceremony. It is said that this wisdom map was seeded by star ancestors, in collaboration with Earth, so that human beings might live and create in a conscious, beauty-vitalizing way.
We see the wisdom map as 12 Archetypes, three for each of four elements: Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. Each archetype has music, dance, colors, principles, and at least one ceremony that corresponds with its energy signature. Our plan is to delve into some of these rhythms, songs, and dances, and culminate with a Prayerformance on Saturday, March 15th, in a fun ceremony of music and dance with our community.
This gathering is open to people on-island and visiting from afar, with the intention that participants commit to the full journey, March 11-16, 2025.

Keiki / Kids Dance Program
We will facilitate a series of dance classes for kids that will occur daily from 4-5:30 pm during Camp. This series will culminate in a performance as part of our March 15th, Saturday evening event.

More Information & Logistics
Kalapana, Hawai’i: Come breathe some of the cleanest air in the world on the eastern side of the Big Island of Hawai’i, on what many call the tops of the mountains of Lumeria.
When: We will gather Tuesday, March 11 to Sunday, March 16th. We culminate with a performance at the one-of-a-kind Black Rock Amphitheatre.
Arrival & Departure:
Check-in: Monday, March 10
Check-out: Monday, March 17
Local Airport: Hilo International Airport (ITO)
Ground Transportation: The drive from ITO to our gathering is approximately 50 minutes. We will offer shuttle transportation from and to ITO airport for $50 a person per trip. There will be parking available should you choose to have your own vehicle. Rental cars are available on island through services like Turo and various companies whose options you can search through sites like Kayak.
Accommodations: We have two rooms available for rent, including shower access. In addition, we have space for camping. Please let us know if you would need to rent camping equipment.
Meals: Advanced registration for Lunch and Dinner Meal Plan available. Food will be locally sourced, organic and unprocessed. Vegan, Vegetarian and Omnivore options.
Excursions: We may visit a nearby cave on the ocean where we can sing and connect with dolphins and whales. The whales are here in the waters of Hawai’i to mate and give birth during this season.

Additional Options: If you or a small group are interested in having a focused council with Fuana, that is available at a special rate of $300 for gathering participants.

Bana Kuma means Sacred Altering. The wisdom’s principles, which include the sacredness of self-sovereignty, unconditional love, non-judgment, acceptance, compassion, gratitude, the importance of now, and life’s infinite wondrousness, can be found exampled in many different people and groups in the world across time. Tenets of Jesus and Mary, Buddha, and Socrates, for example, resonate with much of this wisdom. Anyone who chooses may utilize this wisdom to smooth and balance the wheels of the metaphorical “cart” that each of us rolls through life in.
We believe that music and dance can help change the story of humanity, and the story of how we interact with resonant allies from beyond Earth as well. When even a small group of people are able to embody this wisdom in our being, to feel it in our breath, our gaze, the sound of our voice, and the way we touch the earth, for example, it will signal our readiness to receive other support, such as more sustainable technologies, energy sources, and more to help bring harmony to Earth.
