About Chiyana

Chiyana is a 45 acre property on the banks of the Rio Grande River between Taos and Santa Fe in New Mexicos most fertile fruit Valley called Velarde. The tribes in this river valley were some of the very few who were not moved off of their original lands and remain active there today. Chiyana has been blessed by the local tribal elders and has several spaces for ceremony including women’s sacred space and initiation grounds, ancient medicine prayer circles, a sandstone council cave and ceremonial place, white owl canyon medicine grounds, and river blessing area. It is in close proximity to a waterfall for a cleansing ceremony we call Shiniwa. Chiyana also hosts a 3 acre organic farm and is surrounded by other farms that provide fresh produce.
