You may choose to understand the Kala Naka as nonfictional beings who did exist. You may be able to understand them based upon your own experience whether that be through archeological evidence, modern sciences, ethereal dreamtime, or anything in between. There is also a popular belief that ancient mythologies that talk about the gods like the Greeks and thousands of others are really talking about Kala Naka or beings from other planets who had advanced technology and therefor super natural abilities.

Alternatively, you may choose to understand the Kala Naka as mythological beings or archetypes who embody wisdom which has deep relevance to Bana Kuma. It may not be important if they themselves existed or even if beings like them existed. Great purveyors of mythology like Joseph Campbell have insisted that the importance of myth is not whether it is based in reality but whether the message of the myth conveys wisdom that serves humanity.

The Kala Naka provide a deeper look inside the Bana Kuma and the elemental process.  Each one of them represents a crucial piece of wisdom that can be utilized in your personal Bana Kuma. For the purpose of Bana Kuma, it is less significant how you perceive Kala Naka and more important how they empower you and you Bana Kuma.
